With summer days slowly winding to a close, it’s time to think about fall and winter activities and organized sports.
To help the community do this as efficiently and quickly as possible, a mass registration fair will be held Sept. 5 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Rimbey Community Centre.
Pete Stenstrom, director of community services, said the fair is a win/win situation for both the organization and the registrants.
“We always have a really good turnout, especially at the beginning. It’s not an event where you need to register to have a table. But it is a good idea to show up before 3 and get set up at a table.”
Stenstrom said the town will put out a table where sports equipment that has been left at the community centre will be free for the taking. He also suggests anyone who wants to give away used equipment set up a table.
“They can even put a small price on it if they want to,” he said. “We will be happy to give people a table. It is almost like a sports swap.”
