Amber Hester has been appointed as the new assistant superintendent for student services for Wolf Creek Public Schools. Hester replaces Wanda Christensen who is taking on an assistant superintendent position in Chinook’s Edge School Division.

“On behalf of Wolf Creek Public Schools, I welcome Amber Hester to our division,” said superintendent of schools Larry Jacobs. “Amber has a wealth of knowledge and experience in central office leadership and I have every confidence that she will become an integral part of our leadership team. She also has exemplary collaborative and people skills and shares our vision of powerful educational environments.”

“I am very pleased to have the opportunity to become a part of Wolf Creek Public Schools. In researching the division, I was impressed with its vision, direction and focus on creating success for all learners,” said Hester. “I welcome a new challenge and am excited about my new position as assistant superintendent of student services.”

Hester was superintendent of schools with the Chinook School Division in Swift Current, Sask. She also has experience in school-based administration as a principal and vice-principal, and as a classroom teacher from kindergarten to Grade 12.

She has a 13-year-old son, Tsar, who is active in baseball, hockey and other sports.

“We are thrilled to be moving into central Alberta and have many family members and friends that reside in this part of the province.”

Hester enjoys spending time with family and friends, and loves to travel so she can see new and interesting places and meet new people. She also enjoys the outdoors including riding her motorcycle, quadding, snowmobiling, camping and water sports.
