Online auction is being held to assist Rimbey family with their medical needs

“People have been very generous so far,” Trinity Leamont

The Rimbey community is reaching out to lighten the financial load for a family whose husband and father has been diagnosed with cancer.

Jason Wilson has been diagnosed with stage three, adenocarcinoma cancer and will be traveling to Edmonton for radiation and chemotherapy treatments.

Wilson has been unable to work because of the treatments.

“We would like to try and help raise some money to help with travelling costs, hotel rooms, meals, bills, whatever they need to get by as this is gonna be a long hard road for them and their family,” said Trinity Leamont, who is spearheading the fund raiser. Wilson’s wife Angie plans to be with her husband whenever possible when he is undergoing treatments.

The couple has two daughters and two grandchildren.

To help the family, Leamont has started a Facebook online auction which is open to the public.

A bottle drive is also being held and an account has been set up at Servus Credit Union in Rimbey.

For more information contact Trinity at 403-843-49478.

“People have been very generous so far,” said Leamont, adding the auction will end Dec. 19 and the account at the Credit Union will remain open for three months.
