West Country Outreach School teacher Dave Robertson presented Haley Grundy with the Student of the Year Award.

The graduation and awards ceremonies for the West Country Outreach School June 5 was a time for the students to enjoy the fruits of their labors throughout the year.

Several students from the school were recognized during the evening with awards and certificates, many coming from local businesses, organizations and individuals.

Haley Grundy won the student of the year award and Joanne Koenig was presented with the award for ambassador of the school.

Devonee Lake won awards for work experience and social studies 30-1. She was also presented with the Lois Holmes Memorial Award.

Kole Elliott was recognized with the math 30 applied award. He also won best effort for Grade 12 along with Brina Wengberg. Wengberg also won the outdoor education leadership award.

Best effort for Grade 10 went to Maddy Shippy and Jeffery Matson and best effort for Grade 11 went to Thomas Anglin and Maddy Simpson.

The math 30-pure award went to Chris Nelson who also won the senior high science award and the English 30-2 award. The best effort award for junior high went to Stephanie Vaarstra.

Mary Simpson won the most improved junior high award and Sam Carruthers won the junior high citizenship award.

Emily Anderson won the English 30-1 award and the public service award. Tyler Goetz won the outdoor education leadership award.

Kohlbi Alexandre won the high school leadership award and Laura Simpson was the recipient of the art award.

The social studies 30-2 award went to Stephanie Giroux.
