The community of Rimbey participated in a week-long fundraising auction to help cover operational costs for the Rimbey Christian School (RCS).

“The auction went very well,” said fundraising chairperson, Laura Grinde. “We raised over $20,000, which is about average for our annual auction.”

There were 158 items for auction. The items were donated by community members and surrounding businesses.

Being an independent (private) school, fundraisers and community donations offer huge support. The school is partially funded by the Government of Alberta.

“We would normally do an in-person social event for our annual auction but have moved to an online auction due to COVID-19 restrictions. We hope to go to some type of a social get-together for the auction again next year, maybe even a blended online/in-person event.”
