Rimbey’s Festival of Lights is expected to shine bright in PasKaPoo Park this winter.

The town’s holiday lights will be switched on and a visit from Santa Claus will kick off the Christmas Season in Rimbey on November 25.

Businesses, clubs and groups from around Rimbey wanting to participate each decorate a building in the park and this year there is only one building left unspoken for.

“People from Rimbey get to come out and walk the park,” said Rimbey’s Santa’s Night Committee member, Katherine Winters. She says it is a great way to take the family out and enjoy the holiday spirit of Christmas light displays in the crisp winter air.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be at the park to take photos with families and children, although due to COVID concerns there will be no sitting on Santa’s lap this year.

There will be free hot chocolates, hot dogs and treat bags for the kids. Rimbey community members can also show their charitable holiday spirit on Santa Night by making a donation to the Rimbey Food Bank with their Christmas, “Stuff the Sleigh” campaign. A sleigh will be on site to collect all donations to the food bank.

Events begin 3:30 p.m. and run until 6 p.m. at PasKaPoo Park on Nov. 25.
