Despite the turnout being down from previous years, everyone had a great time at the Rimbey Kinsmen Club’s annual Christmas party and fundraiser Dec. 3 at the Peter Lougheed Community Centre.

This year’s party featured a game show mania, where people could get on stage and buzz in their answers to pop culture trivia questions.

This is around the 50th year the Kinsmen have held their corporate Christmas party for local businesses to host their staff Christmas parties.

The Kinsmen host the parties with a fundraiser, raising money to go towards a deserving group in town, supporting a community project they pick at their meeting. President of the Kinsmen Travis Jaffray said they haven’t picked an organization just yet, but will be deciding shortly.

He added that they also don’t have an exact number yet of how much was raised until their next meeting.

Jaffray says the numbers in attendance could have been down this year as it was their first year back holding the party after being off for two years due to the pandemic.

“When we took the time off people started doing their own Christmas parties,” he said, adding that it was simply a scale of economics.

This year’s party saw about nine businesses in attendance.

“Everybody there seemed to have a good time.”
