The Rimbey Lions Club will be holding their 61st Pancake Day March 19 at the Peter Lougheed Community Centre.

This year marks 61 years that the Rimbey Lions Club is putting on their Pancake Day.

“We’re aiming at a boom year, let’s put it that way. It was cut back last year because Mother Nature was very bad,” said Rimbey Lions Club President Ted Jamieson.

He said last year they were cut down to about half of what they would normally serve, and are hoping to make it back to 400 or 500 people this year.

“We have our musicians booked already, so we’ll have entertainment while people are eating and it’s usually a great time.”

The breakfast will take place March 19 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Peter Lougheed Community Centre.

Volunteers will be starting around 7 a.m. to make sure it’s all set up and ready to go.

The cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children 12 and under and free for children five and under. Pancakes will be served with sausage and bacon.

Money from this event will go back to the Rimbey Lions Club to help cover events in the community.
