Despite the challenges of COVID, Rimbey Neighbourhood Place has been working behind the scenes to take on some big changes.

Neighbourhood Place is no longer government funded which really opens up some doors to be community driven. There is a model that is over 100 years old in British Columbia called Neighbourhood House (http://anhbc.org ) where the community decides on the programs offered.

It’s a really exciting concept that Neighbourhood Place hopes to move toward in addition to continuing to support other organizations in our community with the community newsletter and hosting the interagency meetings.

In addition to supporting the Catholic Social Services Family Counsellor that comes to Rimbey one day a week, Neighbourhood Place is also able to provide support to individuals that the RCMP refer to get the help they want.

Generous donations by organizations such as Telus will really help Neighbourhood Place continue doing the community work that they have been doing for 20 years.

Neighbourhood Place would like to acknowledge the generosity of Telus and welcome any and all input from the community; ideas, gaps or even fun things that individuals would like to see. Please reach out 403 843-6299 or email rimbeynp@telus.net.
