The 2022 Rimbey Snow Dayz on February 5 is set to feature a variety of family friendly activities for the whole community to enjoy.
The Rimbey Sleigh, Wagon and Saddle Club, Rimbey Farmer’s Market and Rimbey Agriculture Society have teamed up to host the event which is set to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Co-operators Agrim Centre.
Upstairs in the Agrim Centre a western marketplace will be set up including western décor and wear venders as well as vendors working tack swap tables.
General Manager of the Co-operators Agrim Centre, Tammy Burns, says that some of the western venders that will be at Rimbey Snow Dayz are, “ones that you don’t normally see unless you are at a large trade show.”
Burns says there are approximately 30 vendors signed up for the tack swap and western marketplace.
Other activities include the regular farmers market, cowboy poetry, which Burns says includes cowboys reading, “poems all about the western lifestyle”, a stock dog demonstration, a demonstration from Polocrosse Calgary, horse soccer, and the cutter parade.
Vice President of the Rimbey Sleigh, Wagon, and Saddle Club, Cory Glenn, says the club is looking forward to this years cutter parade after last years was cancelled due to COVID-19.
When it comes to how many cutters are participating in this year’s parade Glenn says, on average we get about 15 cutters. It’s open to everybody to come.”
Cutters from the Rimbey and other communities are welcome to participate.
In addition to the multitude of equine and shopping activities, a silent auction will be in place during the event. Glenn says that all the money raised in the silent auction will be donated to clubs and organizations in the community.
