School hosts Winterfest

Rimbey’s Christian School recently held its Winterfest, and although it wasn’t as well attended as hoped, spirits remained high.

Winterfest included skating, sledding and hotdog roasting at the school.

Mike Fairfield, development officer with the school’s development board, was hoping the Winterfest would serve as a good community-building event.

Along with strengthening its relationship with the community, the school also wants events such as Winterfest to serve as a door opener to tell people about Christian education.

“We plan to have a couple of events each year where we’ll invite the community at large,” said Fairfield. “We’re getting together and having a good time.”

Larger events the school’s taken part in include have a float in the Rimbey Rodeo parade and a barbecue.

In March the school will also a spring banquet fundraiser, with dates to be announced.
