Grade 12 Bentley student Maeriann Rosenthal says she loves her summer job as hostess at the local Bentley Museum. She was hired as the STEP employee starting mid June and will cover until the September long weekend.

"I like being independent and to pay for things myself. They pay well for what you have to do. I feel very trusted here and I like that," Rosenthal said of her position. "I love this job and I like all the people on the board (volunteer museum board).”

She said she likes the quiet and being able to plan her own schedule of what she will do each day. Her favorite part of the museum is the history room with its references to the Dinosaur Age.

Rosenthal also works at a local restaurant and has been saving up for a car that she said she has recently been able to make a down payment on. She is currently taking driver training and expects to earn her driver's license by the end of the summer.

Upon graduation next term she may consider nursing.

The Bentley museum is open Wednesday through Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the summer with admission free of charge. Memberships are available any time.
