The Blindman River Community Hall Report

By Irene Steeves

The annual Blindman River Society meeting was held on January 28. Three longtime directors on the board stepped down, including Dorothy Darbison, Kay Green and Gord Mounteney. The Board greatly appreciates the time these people have put in on the board. Three new people were nominated as directors and they are Donna and Dave Wideman and Mona Raabis. The rest of the Board remained the same.

Since all of our suppers have reported a profit thanks to the public’s support, we’re going to add a specialty supper of barbequed back ribs in September with only 75 tickets available.

On May 8 and 9 we will also be holding our annual Yard and Garden Sale. There will be plenty of annual and perennial flowers as well as greenhouse experts with hanging baskets, potted plants and bedding plants galore.

The Blindman River Ladies Club will also be on hand with baked goods including plenty of homemade breads, buns and sweets. It would be greatly appreciated if members of the community wished to donate an item or two to their table. As well, we will also appreciate any donations of yard and garden items.
