Value Drug Mart kicks off 5th annual “Kitz 4 Kidz” campaign

Submitted

Value Drug Mart is set to kick off the 5th annual Kitz 4 Kidz campaign. The program is a community initiative designed to collect and provide school supplies for children in this region who are unable to begin the school year with the basic necessities. The four-week program began on Aug. 3 and all donated school supplies collected at the local Value Drug Mart will stay in the community.

Over the past four years, Value Drug Mart has been providing school supplies for children who need them most. So far, they have helped put supplies in the hands of over 15,000 children. The program was introduced to raise awareness and provide school supplies for less fortunate children while ensuring donations stay in the community and the program has been a success.

Cash donations, individual supplies and over 14,000 kits have been sold totaling over $85,000 in donations made across Alberta and British Columbia.

Donations can be made at your local Value Drug Mart and individual school supplies and cash donations are also welcome. The public may choose from two different kits that are available in stores.

If parents are unable to provide their children with the required school supplies, or if more information is required about the program, they are encouraged to contact the local Value Drug Mart or Rimbey Community Home Help Services at 403-843-2030. Supplies are given discreetly to ensure privacy.
