Vibrant newspapers change with the times, while staying true to their audience and values

Today’s redesigned Rimbey Review is an example of the evolution of a tried and true relationship between reader and paper.

Our goal is to serve readers with information that it is essential to living fully in our community; that can be easily read; is bright and well organized; is presented in a convenient form; is environmentally responsible; suits the needs of our advertisers and our distributors; and helps us move into the future.

During turbulent times, it is particularly important to readers that they can trust the Rimbey Review to report on the community in an honest, thorough and helpful fashion.

We believe the changes we are unveiling today will help better present that news.

The display changes developed by Designer Scott Williamson include more colour, a new banner and a greater number of front page items — all intended to engage you and other potential readers.

We’ve also made a critical physical change: the Rimbey Review is now slightly shorter. By slimming down the size of the paper, we have created a more convenient package for the reader while saving on paper costs — and preserving trees. We already use a product that includes recycled paper. The narrower paper will also be easier to handle during delivery, including through Canada Post.

We’ve also introduced a new production tool that will cut back on the ink we use, making our paper less messy to handle. We already use non-toxic, canola oil-based inks.

As always, it’s crucial to us that you are served well and that we are mindful of your needs.

We will continue to evolve to serve our community, and we hope you continue to talk to us about how we can accomplish our mutual goals.
