Families got to enjoy watching their loved ones dance away at the Westland Dance Company’s annual Christmas recital Dec. 3 at the Peter Lougheed Community Centre. This year’s was called the Winter Wonderland Showcase.

“It went really great. We had a lot of support from our families in the community from these shows,” said Co-owner of the dance company Alyssa Landry.

They had around 115 dancers take part in the Sylvan Lake performance in the afternoon and about 38 students participate in the Rimbey show in the evening.

“This is our first year of Sylvan Lake running a full year program. Sylvan Lake had a 12 week program that joined us last year where we were doing a trial run and it went great, so we now have a full year program with them,” said Landry.

Starting in January, Westland will be offering a 10 week session opening in Sylvan Lake and Rimbey.

Online registrations and schedules are listed on their website at westlanddanceco.com.
