Wildrose MLA Anderson in Rocky

The Rocky Mountain House Wildrose Alliance Constituency Association will welcome special guest Wildrose MLA Rob Anderson on Feb. 26.

Anderson will speak on property rights and democracy, key concerns of the Wildrose Alliance party and many voters in the constituency.

“We’re excited to have Rob visit our riding and highlight the party’s plans to re-instate property rights to landowners,” said interim president Krista Waters. “Rob will also be available to answer other questions and concerns that people bring forward.”

Rimbey will soon become part of the new Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre constituency. The AGM begins at 1 p.m. on Feb. 26 at the Rocky Museum. It is an open meeting and memberships are not required to attend. Only members in good standing will be able to vote during the AGM portion of the afternoon. In addition to hearing from Anderson, the afternoon will include activity and financial reports from the board’s inaugural year and elections.

“The Rocky Mountain House Constituency Association is wrapping up a very busy first year. We’ve increased our membership and were able to host our leader Danielle Smith last fall,” Waters said. “After the AGM, this constituency will move toward holding a nomination race to choose our candidate for the next provincial election.”

Several area residents have already expressed interest in seeking the nomination, Waters added, showing there is strong support for the Wildrose in the area and ensuring an exciting nomination race.
