Winfield and District 4-H Club

By Club Reporter Josee Guss

On February 1st, the Winfield 4-H club held their annual public speaking competition at the Alder Flats Legion Hall. Coming in first for the juniors was Jacob Parker, second place was Josée Guss and in third place was Scott Kramer. For the intermediates, Chad Schenk came in first and Chantelle Guss placed second. For the seniors, Gerald Schenk came in first, Dalton Parker second, and Christine Becker came in third.

A great big thank you goes out to our judges: Pam Parsons, Kathleen Borzel, Cheri Rooyakkers, Karen Becker, Gina Foster and John VanLoenen.

On March 28th, the Winfield Club organized a Division-wide Fun Day at the Collicutt Centre in Red Deer. Some of the activities included the rock-climbing wall, Skyballl, use of the gym and the swimming pool. I think everyone had a good time.

Friday, the 3rd of April was our mini show at Rowland’s, followed by a meeting. Everyone had a good laugh when Chantelle’s calf dragged Donnie through the snow, water and mud. So come to the show and sale to see if it happens again. The next mini show will be on the 26th of April, just two weeks before the big show and sale. Keep up the good work everyone, and hope to see you all at the Rimbey Interclub Show and Sale on May 10th and 11th.
