Two little boys were super excited a few weeks ago when they went to the Rimbey post office to discover that Canadian astronaut, Commander Chris Hadfield had sent them personalized, autographed photos.

Earlier the children, four-year-old Daniel Moran and his two-year-old brother Noah had written a letter, with the help of their mom, Carina to Commander Hadfield. The reply was an unexpected and delightful surprise.

“My boys could not contain their excitement and opened the package at the post office,” said Carina Moran. “They have followed his journey (both in space and here on earth) with much admiration and respect. He has become an unexpected, yet significant role model in their lives.”

Moran, who also is mom to an infant son, said she is thrilled as well that Hadfield took the time to send the pictures to her boys.

“It is our own feel good story and we would love for everyone to know what an outstanding individual Chris Hadfield is, and the positive impact he has on little minds.”

The Moran family live near Meridian Beach by Gull Lake. The boys have their pictures framed and in their rooms.

Four-year-old Daniel has decided he wants to be an astronaut firefighter when he grows up.
