It was with sadness that I heard the news of Treena Mielke’s passing, as I have known Treena for several years. I remember her back during her days with the Sylvan Lake News , and then we worked together for several years at the Red Deer Express . Treena went on to be editor of the Rimbey Review – and not only did she cover any community she worked in really well, she was also very much appreciated for her superb columns, which appeared in several local papers over the years.

There is a huge Christmas Village set up inside the Marina Building at Sandy Point Resort &RV Park created by June MacIntosh, an employee of the resort. MacIntosh puts the whole display together for others to view free of charge. It is requested that people instead bring an item for the Bentley Blessing Pantry of non-perishable food items to help those less fortunate.
