Rimbey Municipal Library Year in Review

2022 was a pivotal year at the Rimbey Municipal Library. After many years of advocacy and fundraising, we finally have a completed expansion, including a programming room and staff work room. This expansion additionally led to aesthetic changes made to the main body of the library. Utilizing our new programming room, we hosted various programs ranging from our annual wine tasting, to our frequent family movie nights.

Rimbey 4H Club Year in Review

As of January 2022, our members all had their calves selected, and they were being fed their grain rations. Lots were halter broke and starting to gain lots of weight by January. On Jan. 30, our Club hosted District Multi Species Judging. It was a fun day where members learned how to judge chickens, photography, horses, sheep and cow anatomy and tested our memory with a memorization station.

It was with sadness that I heard the news of Treena Mielke’s passing, as I have known Treena for several years. I remember her back during her days with the Sylvan Lake News , and then we worked together for several years at the Red Deer Express . Treena went on to be editor of the Rimbey Review – and not only did she cover any community she worked in really well, she was also very much appreciated for her superb columns, which appeared in several local papers over the years.
