Rimbey Municipal Library is proud to present a fun evening to include a delicious cuisine and some great music to dance to.

Blackwater Crude is coming to Rimbey on Nov. 23 at the Peter Lougheed Community Centre and the band promises to provide a great evening of entertainment.

The evening will kick off with cocktails at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30, catered by Starkist Catering and a dance at 8 p.m.

Emily Peacock from the Rimbey library said Blackwater Crude is a versatile band that offers a little bit of country, rock and roll and other genres of music.

(quote from Blackwater

Crude website)

“We squeeze out the finest juices from country, rock, hillbilly and rockabilly to serve up the most delicious blend of music around.

It may have been years since you heard music you love. Wait no longer. We’re here to rescue the world from the musical rut it’s fallen into. Our loyal and rowdy fans of all shapes and sizes can attest to this.

Founded by Raymond and Kevin, and later joined by Travis and Lexie, Blackwater Crude has undergone many changes over the years. But, we’ve maintained our allegiance to the music and music-makers that inspire us. We think this, along with our professionally unpredictable live show, is what validates BWC as the leading band in Canada.

(Or at least in Alberta… probably)

On a typical night, we start out innocent enough - slow ballads, swift two-steppers, and good ole honky tonkin’. But as the night gains momentum, expect us to get naughty and turn up the party a few notches.”

Peacock noted that its important to staff at Rimbey library to provide events such as this for the community as it gives residents the opportunity to get out and enjoy themselves at a local venue.

She said financially the library usually simply breaks even, but any surplus funds will go towards the library’s building fun.

Tickets are available at the library.
