Beatty Heritage House celebrates 100 years in 2025

There will be one event held per month to celebrate the 100th anniversary.

The Beatty Heritage House in Rimbey will be celebrating its 100th birthday in 2025 with one event per month as part of the celebration.

"During the year, the board hopes to hold an event each month focused on the house and the community that Jack and Violet Beatty chose to call their home more than a century ago," said Secretary of the Beatty Heritage House Society Florence Stemo.

The first event will be held on Jan. 10 at the Beatty Heritage House with Alberta-born singer/songwriter and storyteller Tim Isberg, who will bring in stories and songs of the events in history.

Some of the themes included in Isberg's repertoire include the arrival of the railway in the west, the Northwest Mounted Police, steamboats on the Saskatchewan River and colourful characters who have played roles in the opening of the Canadian West.

"It's taken from his third album Prairie Fire."

The event begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 10 at the Beatty Heritage House in Rimbey.

Tickets are 30$ each and can be purchased through the Beatty Heritage House by email at bhhsociety@gmail.com or by calling Teri Ormberg at 403 843 6497.
