Around 300 people attended the Quaide Skjonsberg Riggin Rally Invitational rodeo held Dec. 31, the Novice Bareback rider's first event.
The event was a bareback riding event, which brought a number of riders from across Canada out to compete.
"It went really good, it was a pretty good turnout. The horses were all really good, the riders rode really good, and it was just an overall really good event," said Quaide Skjonsberg.
There were two riders from Idaho that came out, while the rest were from across Canada.
Ethan Mazurenko won the long round and the short round of the event, while Skjonsberg himself won second in the long and short round.
"I missed winning it by half a point," said Skjonsberg.
Skjonsberg said the number of spectators who came out was better than he thought they'd be, with lots of people coming out to support his first event.
Skjonsberg said he plans on putting the event on again next year and for years to come.
