Misty Griffith has been settling into her busy role as the Executive Director of Rimbey Community Home Help Services, known by many as Rimbey FCSS.

Griffith started as Operations Manager back in August of 2022, before becoming Executive Director on Jan. 2 of this year.

"It's been busy, there's been a lot of change, because I came in when they signed the new agreement with the contracted vendor agreement with Alberta Health Services for personal care, so we signed that in October and so I have been busy with that," said Griffith.

When it comes to her favourite part of the role, Griffith said it's the team.

"They're amazing and so welcoming and knowledgeable. I definitely couldn't do this job without them."

Griffith is originally from Cessford, Alberta, a rural, remote ranching community between Hanna and Brooks.

She worked in mental health for 15 years prior for Mental Health Capacity Building in Schools Initiative through the province. She also worked in Prairie Land Regional Division for 11 years as the program manager for the whole school division.

"(The programs) provided mental health and addiction prevention, promotion and early intervention supports in schools."

In 2021, she left that position for something new and moved to Millet to be the Wetaskiwin FCSS Executive Director and got recruited for her current position.

"The Town's been great. I've been getting to know them through hockey as my son plays and so many activities, it just seems like there's always something to do in Rimbey. I'm loving it here."
