Rimbey Elementary's Breakfast with Santa sells out in first year

Community enjoys family breakfast, Santa photos, face painting and more at first Breakfast With Santa event.

Breakfast With Santa, hosted by Rimbey Elementary School's Parent Council Foundation, was a huge success, with all 200 tickets sold out to the event.

This was the first-ever Breakfast With Santa event that was held on Nov. 23 at the Rimbey Agrim Centre.

"We had a lot of support for this event," said Kelly LeBlanc, chair for Rimbey Elementary School's Parent Council.

The event had over 15 volunteers, including four from the Evergreen Co-op, along with volunteers from Rimbey Minor Hockey U18, arranged by Maria Tisdale.

There was also a hot chocolate buffet on top of the catered breakfast by MaD Catering.

"Our hot chocolate buffet was really cool," said LeBlanc.

There was also face painting, along with a raffle basket for adults filled with locally purchased items, which was won by Christine Beerman.

They had a 50/50 raffle, drawn by Santa, with over $300 won by a Rimbey Elementary School volunteer Crystal Shannon.

"We also had an online auction with 47 items, including locally made and purchased by Blooms that we decorated by various businesses and families."

The online auction raised $3,300 towards the event and Outdoor Classroom Project at Rimbey Elementary School.

"The event was spectacular for the community, smiles on the faces of everyone young and old. It had a magical vibe for sure."

The total amount raised is not available as of yet.
