During this time period, the Rimbey RCMP Detachment responded to 50 calls for service. These calls included six traffic violations, six traffic collisions, five missing persons, four assistance to Canadian Provincial/Territorial Department/Agency, three 911 act, three other Provincial/Territorial statute, two fraud, two suspicious person/vehicle, two items lost/found, two well-being checks, two break and enter, one failure to comply with order, one operation while impaired, one assist general public, one theft of truck, one mischief, one assault, one animal call, one Coroner’s Act, one abandoned vehicle, one firearms act, one theft, one information file, and one false alarm.
June 18
A Rimbey RCMP member witnessed the breach of a release order, and arrested the individual on multiple outstanding warrants from various jurisdictions.
June 19
RCMP received a report of an individual who was staggering, got into a vehicle, then crashed into a pallet and bucket that got stuck under the vehicle. Rimbey RCMP investigated and the individual was charged with operating motor vehicle while impaired.
June 20
Rimbey RCMP received a request for a well-being check on a pony that was laying in a yard and did not seem to be standing up for several days. Rimbey RCMP members attended and the pony was standing up. RCMP members spoke with the owners of the pony who advised the pony had sore feet and they were getting the pony looked at.
June 23
Rimbey RCMP received a report of a stranded boater. Rimbey RCMP members attended and searched for the individual with the assistance of civilians. The individual was located, pulled from the water, and transported by emergency service to the hospital.
June 23
Rimbey RCMP received a report of theft of a horse worth $10,000. An individual reported that another person came and picked up the horse from his pen. The individual does not have proof of ownership. This matter is still under investigation.
