The special star of Bethlehem
Shone bright above the stable,
Where Mary birthed the baby boy
And used a manger as His cradle.
Angelic voices filled earth and heaven
With music never heard before.
It was Christ’s holy requiem,
His victory over sin and shame.
As Mary held her tiny boy
And swaddled Him with love,
The Holy Spirit sent assurance
From Father God above.
She gazed into His shiny eyes
And saw reflected there,
Her son, God’s sacrificial lamb
Was smiling back at her.
