Bentley community spirit — wow!
I would like to make a few comments about the recent Hockeyville contest at Bentley. We all know how modern times have hurt small towns and communities in the loss of community spirit and local organizations losing members. I have lived in the Bentley area for my entire life and have seen this happening in our community. However, the recent activities surrounding Hockeyville has excited and brought our community together in a way I haven’t seen in decades.
Hats off to Angel Hand and her crew, and to Lane Moore and the staff at Bentley School for uniting young and old to decorate the town and promote our community and lifestyle on national television.
We made it into the top 5 in Canada and although we didn’t win the competition, we won as a united community. Everyone involved should be proud of the job they have done bringing the community together and teaching our young people the pride and love for where we live and come from and this will pay dividends for decades to come.
