Submitter adds comments to previous letter re: tips

I think it's a shame that a person who works so hard has to give away 20 per cent of their tips. (Submitter has plan come tax time, Jan. 5 issue)

I was once a waitress and I know how difficult in can be dealing with clients, remembering drink orders and being efficient. People tip you, not the bartender they never even laid eyes on.

When I leave a tip, I always leave the tip based on the service I received. I’d hate to think that the waitress that I left a tip for is being swindled.

Action should be taken to ensure that no one is taken advantage of. After all, isn’t the waitress making less money per hour in the first place because she is supposed to rely on tips?
