Submitter agrees with previous letter re: lack of sidewalks

I am so glad someone else has noticed Rimbey’s lack of sidewalks. When I approached the Town about this issue a year ago, I was told that Rimbey is primarily a senior’s town and that they (the seniors) don’t want sidewalks.

Dear Editor;

I am so glad someone else has noticed Rimbey’s lack of sidewalks.

When I approached the Town about this issue a year ago, I was told that Rimbey is primarily a senior’s town and that they (the seniors) don’t want sidewalks.

Is that true?

In a society where there is an increase in obesity and a decrease in activity levels, why would a town choose to not be putting in sidewalks? How can our children walk safely to school when there are so few sidewalks?

Many streets have vehicles parked on both sides forcing pedestrians to endanger their safety by walking down the middle of the road. The town seems to be building rapidly without any consideration for pedestrians and their safety.

This town needs sidewalks and pathways.
