Dear Editor;

Congratulations and thank you to the committee who organized the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Church of the Epiphany, Rimbey.

The entire weekend of June 6 to 8, 2008 was filled with a variety of successful activities and opportunities to celebrate the importance of that historic Anglican Church.

The committee had planned interesting events that promoted the participation of young and old, present residents of Rimbey and those from afar, as well as several past and present members of the clergy.

It was especially gratifying to share the celebration with community members from other denominations. A highlight was the Confirmation service at which Bishop Hoskins of the Diocese of Calgary, officiated. The coming together of people from many faiths was a remarkable example of true “community”.

The comprehensive program allowed opportunities for sharing precious memories of our families, friends and clergy, and our involvement with the church. The displays and pictures were especially interesting. Some of the stories told were hilarious and reminded us of the joys to be found in church life.

Sincere thanks to all who dedicated so much time, thought and energy in providing this remarkable occasion where we could celebrate the anniversary together.

Sincerely,

Doris (Roper) Moonie
