Thank you

Dear Editor:

On behalf of the Cystic Fibrosis Canada - Central Alberta Chapter, I would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Kinsmen and Kinettes for their continued dedication and support in helping us in our quest to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. Since 1964, Kinsmen and Kinettes have helped us fight for the lives of children and young adults affected by this deadly disease.

To date Kinsmen and Kinettes have raised over 38 million dollars across Canada and are one of the largest supporters of Cystic Fibrosis research.

As May is Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month, the Kinsmen and Kinettes will be out once again on May 7 for Kin-Cystic Fibrosis Day, raising awareness and money to continue this vital research. Without their continued support, people living with cystic fibrosis might not have had the opportunities they have today. Opportunities which include better treatments, increased knowledge, and most importantly living longer, more fulfilling lives. We encourage everyone to come out and support your local Kinsmen and Kinettes by buying Daisies or donating your spare change to their highway hold-ups.

During May, volunteers from Cystic Fibrosis Canada - Central Alberta Chapter will be out as well doing fundraisers such as our annual Great Strides Walk event. At this time we would like to extend an invitation to all to come out and have some fun while supporting a great cause. Great Strides happens on May 29, at the Pioneer Lodge in Red Deer where there will be a BBQ, games, face painting and prizes.

For more info you can visit www.cysticfibrosiscanada.ca or call Joanne at 403-866-4756.

Once again a huge thank you to both the Kinsmen and Kinettes for helping many families breathe easier.

Amanda MacLean
