Will election offer choices for voters?

Who will we elect to take care of the town’s affairs? It is time to start thinking about it.

Dear Editor:

I hope taxpayers in Rimbey are aware that this is an election year. In October we will have our say at the ballot box. Who will we elect to take care of the town’s affairs?

It is time to start thinking about it.

For instance, how much money could have been saved if the town had used our local Sears outlet to buy the furniture for the EMT office? And Mayor Dale Barr, where is our expensive parade truck?

Our taxes are outrageously high, just like the mayor’s wages. And what do we get for our buck?

There are vehicles parked on our streets month after month, some are holiday trailers that never move.

One town councillor has a trailer in his yard that is being used summer and winter. He has five dogs, knowing full well that the limit for each family is two dogs.

I won’t even mention the pool debacle or how the speed limits are not ever being enforced in our town.

Hopefully the upcoming election will make us stop and think about the choices we make, about who would best run out town affairs for the next term.
