The RCMP Central Alberta Crime Reduction Unit has successfully recovered a stolen vehicle on April 8, 2022.

“This is a good example of our officers adjusting our tactics and utilizing information from the public in order to effectively and safely recover stolen property and arrest those responsible.” says Cpl. William Hiscock of the Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit.

On April 8, Rimbey RCMP attempted to stop a stolen truck which fled the Buck Lake, Alta., area. RCMP Crime Reduction Units from Central Alberta District and Rocky Mountain House were deployed to assist.

Thanks to witnesses, RCMP were able to locate and observe the vehicle.

During officer observation of the vehicle, the driver stopped on a rural road and exited the vehicle.

Police arrested the driver without risk to the public. Charges against the driver, a 38-year-old County of Wetaskiwin resident are pending.
