On Feb. 1, Crestomere 4H Multi Club held their club public speaking and presentations at the Ponoka Secondary School.

It was a very long day but we heard many funny, creative and informative speeches and presentations. Our 27 judges volunteered their time to give feedback to our members. Moving on to the zones level in Public Speaking is: Junior, Avery Strohschein, Eliza Sweet and Heidi Kootstra; Intermediates, Sam Strohschein and Addison Wagner; Seniors, Eva Hoogland and Morgan Trithart.

Presentation winners were Junior, Wyatt Damiani and Carson Feitsma; Intermediate, Fiona Kootstra and Paisley Krause. Congratulations everyone.

Back in December, we held our Christmas Party at the Ponoka bowling alley where we spent the afternoon bowling and eating yummy snacks. Our club completely filled the alley and had a lot of fun.

We spent a few evenings in February with our senior citizens in Rimoka lodge and Rimbey Lodge playing games, performing musical pieces, reciting poetry and serving tea and ice cream. A great time was had by all.

Our 4H members have been attending various judging competitions since January and have been representing Crestomere Multi very well. We have had several members place in individual classes and win overall judging placements.

Coming up is Provincial Multi Species Judging in Vermillion. We will rent a bus and travel early in the morning to compete against other Alberta 4Her’s. Wish us luck!

We have been working very hard on our 4H projects this year in anticipation of our Achievement Day. Depending on the project our members are enroled in, they have been training their dogs, building their wood projects, creating gorgeous art work, learning about sheep, horticulture or poultry, feeding steers or digging deep into judging new species of animal and much more!

We are looking forward to showing you what we have achieved this year at the Lacombe Ag Grounds on May 30 and 31.
