Many folks may not recognize the name as my family and I have only lived in Ponoka County for six years. We have found though that the welcoming community and fantastic neighbors makes it feel like we have been here for a lifetime.
I would say you could see my name on all the signs I put around, but I honestly feel that this is a waste of hard-earned money and when I see them, it makes me think, would a sign influence my decision? No, it wouldn’t. I would want to know a bit about the individual and support the one with a common mindset and values as I have.
With that, let me tell you a little bit about myself and our family. My wife and I have two great kids, who keep us busy with extracurricular activities as well as being part of the local beef 4H club. We have been slowly working on building up our small sheep operation and operating our horse boarding and riding arena just west of Leedale.
Along with the hobby farm shenanigans, for the last five years we have operated a surface land company from our home, working with various oil and gas, REA and natural gas co-op companies.
This is my first time running or even considering running for county councilor, so the position will be new to me but I believe having a new personality, opinion and decision-making process in the mix is just what is needed to make a difference.
For approximately the last 20 years as a licensed land agent, I have been dealing with various kinds of stakeholders with an outstanding ability to work comfortably in a wide variety of situations. Along with being a fresh face with new ideas and having a genuine passion for the well-being of our community, I am able to thoroughly evaluate situations and provide an unbiased opinion while having absolutely no hidden agendas.
Whether it’s keeping our taxes low, maintaining safe and reliable roads or just being your voice in office or an ear to listen, I intend on doing my best to serve you and our community. I think Ponoka County is a great place to work, play and live but I am sure together, we can make it a little better. I ask for your vote in this upcoming municipal election.
