Premier Danielle Smith has wished Albertans a happy new year.
“As I reflect on the progress of the past year, I am filled with pride in what our province has accomplished,” Smith said in a statement on Monday morning.
“Our government has set in motion major commitments to make Alberta a better place for everyone. We continue to see strong economic growth as we stand up for our province’s autonomy in the face of federal overreach, and we are showing the world that Alberta is still calling.”
Smith said 2024 will bring the province new opportunities.
“… And we are ready and willing to ensure we harness these new opportunities and keep Alberta as the best province in Canada to live, work and raise a family,” Smith said.
“As we look ahead to the new year, let’s do so with hope, optimism and the same can-do attitude that has served this province well for the past 118 years.
“I wish you all a safe, happy and fulfilling 2024.”
