A recent meeting hosted by the Rimbey and District Chamber of Commerce showed there is plenty of enthusiasm for getting the organization up and running at full speed again.
The meeting was held at Rendezvous on May 3.
Businesses representatives were welcome to attend, as was anyone who was interested in the organization as a whole, said Mandy Swanson, the chamber's president.
"I am so happy with our team of people! Everyone seems positive and willing to put their input and ideas into the future of the chamber," she said.
"We are still working at getting the chamber in town going. There are some key points in the paper work direction that need to completed and mailed into corporate registries to get the society in good standing," Swanson explained.
"We want to get it back in fine form and then start asking for membership with the community businesses."
The chamber is getting back up and running after being almost dissolved for a year in 2024.
But momentum is kicking in, and organizers hope the recent meeting can generate even more interest in seeing the chamber reach its full potential in Rimbey and the surrounding region.
Meanwhile, Kim Short is serving as vice president, Shandel Barr as secretary and Amy Guldbrandsen as treasurer. Directors include Chad Patel, Donna Kercher, Steve Croft and Stacy Shantz.
"I think from the people who were in attendance we all realize the chamber can be so important because it brings our business community together. And the more we can help each other and support each other - the more we all win in the end," said Swanson. "Our community wins.
"I also feel we need an active chamber in our community so we can help promote each other," she added.
"Right now in our town, there are many new businesses, and many new business owners that have taken over or purchased businesses. If they can be a part of the chamber, they can build up their community of people who own them, who support them, and who help promote them, too. We all win by being a better community," she said.
"We (also) attract more people to our businesses."
In the meantime, Swanson said committee members are going to look at what they can find of the old parade float display and if it is in good shape, they are hopeful to include it in the Rimbey rodeo parade coming up in July.
"We will get going again and it will be great," she said. "We are also hopeful that after summer, things will be rolling!"
