April 23 to April 30, 2025
During this time period, the Rimbey RCMP detachment responded to 50 calls for service.
These calls included eight traffic warnings, four traffic tickets, three uttering threats, two theft over $5,000, two well-being checks, two false alarms, two suspicious person/vehicle, two possession of property obtained by crime, two traffic violation, two assaults, two fail to comply with court order, two fraud, two mental health act, two mischief, two assist general public, one theft under $5,000, one criminal harassment, one 911 act, one missing person, one
item lost/found, one abandoned vehicle, one offender management, one trespass at night, one information file, one extortion without firearm, and one municipal bylaw.
April 23 - Rimbey RCMP received a report that the owner of a property was stealing when cleaning up belongings left behind by an individual when they were evicted. RCMP members investigated, a court order was lawfully in place, and no crime occurred.
April 26 - RCMP received a report of a potentially stolen horse trailer. After purchasing the horse trailer, the buyer noticed that the VIN was ground off the frame and the VIN stickers were not the original. This matter is still under investigation.
April 26 - Rimbey RCMP received a report of people playing loud music. Rimbey RCMP members attended location and spoke with property representatives who shut off music immediately.
April 28 - RCMP received multiple reports of an abandoned vehicle in a rural area. RCMP members contacted the registered owner who advised the vehicle ran out of gas the previous evening and they would be getting the vehicle today. RCMP attended and taped the vehicle to prevent further calls.
April 29 - Rimbey RCMP received a report of fraud. An individual received a phone call from an unknown male who asked about an Amazon charge for a specific amount, then told the individual that they had to answer some questions in order to stop the charges. While on the phone answering the questions, the unknown male was accessing the individuals bank account and withdrawing money. This matter is still under investigation.
Rimbey RCMP provides policing services to a large geographical area.
This area goes north to Township Road 450, west to the North Saskatchewan River west of Highway 22, south to Township Road 410, and east to Range Road 10.
This jurisdiction encompasses the communities of Rimbey, Hoadley, Springdale, Nugent, Homeglen, Bluffton, Lavesta, Willesden Green, Leedale, Summer Village of Parkland Beach, Sandy Point, Meridian Beach, Sunnyside, Paulsen's Pasture, Raymond Shores, Lynn Acres, Birch Bay and Westlake Estates.
