Thorsby RCMP arrest male for armed robbery of a Warburg liquor store

Friday Aug. 12, at approximately 3:54 p.m., Thorsby RCMP received a report of an armed robbery at liquor store in Warburg.

A lone male entered the local business brandishing a baseball bat and demanded money from the cashier.

Thorsby RCMP state they have surveillance footage of the suspect and involved vehicle and patrols were made in the area. RCMP located the vehicle shortly after.

Dustan Halliday, 27, of Thorsby, Alta., was arrested and is facing multiple charges including:

• Robbery;

• Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose;

• Assaulting a peace officer x2;

• Commit an indictable offence, unlawfully have his face masked or disguised;

• Obstructing a peace officer in the execution of their duties;

• And fraudulent concealment.

Following a judicial hearing Halliday was released and is scheduled to appear on Sept. 14, 2022, in Breton Provincial Court.
