Weather report looks good for Wednesday and Thursday

Driving winds and snow make for poor driving conditions, Monday

Winter arrived with a vengence Monday, and strong winds and falling snow caused havoc on several central Alberta roads.

However, Rimbey RCMP said there were no reported accidents on Hwy. 20, although the highway had icy patches and was partially snow covered.

Monday morning Ponoka Intergrated Traffic Unit responded to an eight-vehicle collision and a two-vehicle collision on Hwy 2 near the Hwy. 604 overpass, north of Lacombe.

It appears the nasty weather is short lived, with today’s (Tuesday) forecast mostly sunny and a high of 7 C.

Temperatures are forecast to continue to rise during the week with 12 C forecast for Wednesday and temperatures could go up to 21 C on Thursday.
