The call volume for the officers based in the Rimbey RCMP detachment has been holding steady around 30 per week. Between Nov. 17 and Nov. 23, the officers responded to an even 30 calls.
On the roads, officers responded to a sharp spike in vehicle collisions, both traffic and animal. Officers responded to five vehicle versus vehicle collisions as well as five vehicle versus animal collisions. One traffic violation ticket was issued, and one incident under the provincial mandatory roadside alcohol screening rules was reported. In addition, officers responded to three reports of suspicious vehicles or persons.
Under criminal code matters, officers responded to one complaint of assault, one complaint of mischief, two complaints of break-and-enter, two complaints of theft, laid one charge of possession of property obtained by crime, and responded to one complaint of a sexual related offence.
In general policing matters that don’t fall under traffic or criminal code, officers responded to two sudden deaths, provided assistance to the general public once and dealt with one lost-and-found item.
