Beatty Heritage House society to host Earth Day info fair

Informative and interesting speakers to talk at Beatty House on April 23, Earth Day

The Rimbey Heritage House Society is a down-to-earth grass routes organization that is doing their part to recognize Earth Day.

An Earth Day Information Fair will be held at the Beatty Heritage House on Sat., April 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. and will provide a wealth of information to people in the area.

Leading off the info sessions is Dr. Christina Seidel of the Recycling Council of Alberta who will speak on strategies for living ‘waste free’ whether its in homes or businesses.

She will also give an overview on how recycling works in Alberta.

Caleb Schmidt of Sunfind Solar who will talk about residential and farm installations, technical requirements and considerations, performance expectations, typical costs and government funding projects.

Jim and Jackie Anderson will also be on hand to talk about solar power.

Last, but not least, in the impressive lineup will be Gayle Rondeel of Germane Market Garden who will talk about growing a healthy garden using less water.

Rondeel, who recently won a prestigious award from Alberta Farmers Market Association, will offer practical advice and ideas about using organic techniques for pest control and soil amendments and choosing the plants that will do well in this area.

Finally, Dr. Christina Seidel of the Recycling Council of Alberta will speak on strategies for living ‘waste free’ whether its in homes or businesses.

She will also give an overview on how recycling works in Alberta.
