Bentley Ag Centre to be upgraded

Upgrades to the Blindman Valley Ag Centre in Bentley will be supported with a grant

Upgrades to the Blindman Valley Ag Centre in Bentley will be supported with a grant from the federal Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF) Wetaskiwin MP Blaine Calkins announced recently.

“Our government is committed to creating jobs, growth and long-term prosperity in communities across Canada,” said Calkins. “By investing in improvements to the Blindman Valley Ag Centre, we are helping to benefit the many residents and community groups who organize and attend events at the Centre.”

The $18,000 grant will support interior upgrades to the kitchen, including the installation of a new cooking range, dishwasher and food preparation table.

“The Bentley and District Agricultural Society is appreciative of the funding received from the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund,” said her Mayor Joan Dickau, president of the Bentley and District Agricultural Society.

“This funding will allow us to complete the kitchen in the Blindman Valley Ag Centre. Many volunteers have worked to provide the area with an exceptional facility and these improvements will enhance this building.”
