Bentley post office damaged, armed robbery at Subway

Sylvan Lake RCMP responded to a couple of incidents in Bentley in November.

Sometime overnight on Nov. 24, a vehicle, believed to be a truck, backed into the Bentley post office building, causing extensive damage, confirmed Sgt. Stephanie Lesyk of the Sylvan Lake RCMP.

Nothing was stolen. Video surveillance footage has been obtained and the investigation is ongoing.

On Nov. 8 at around 7:15 p.m., a male suspect entered the Bentley Subway and proceeded to rob the location with a firearm.

The suspect was completely covered, wearing a black jacket with their face covered and was wearing gloves.

A small amount of cash was stolen.

The suspect’s firearm was not discharged and there were no injuries, including the lone employee who was present.

No damage was caused to the premises during this incident.

Surveillance footage has been obtained and the investigation is ongoing.
