This year’s Bentley Rodeo was another great success, with the arena at capacity.
It was the 55th annual rodeo, while the parade is in its 60th year.
Taking place from Aug. 10-13, the ladies bronc riding was one of the new events this year.
“The crowd really liked it and the girls came out and supported it and it was a great new event,” said Jeremy Park, rodeo committee chairman.
The rodeo was a CARA event with all of the sanctioned events including additional events of the ladies bronc riding and the wild cow milking.
“If we can get the contestants behind it I think we’ll definitely continue it.”
Marc Fortais, chief administrative officer with the Town of Bentley said they are happy with all of the work the volunteers do in the community to host rodeo.
“It’s a really big draw,” he said.
Although the parade was cut a bit short due to rainy weather, Fortais said people seemed to still enjoy the parade.
“I think it was a really good weekend. The weather cleared up, it was a little bit worrisome in the morning with the cloudy weather, but everything cleared up really nice and their was a good turnout for the car show as well.”
