The Bentley Junior High drama students have been working hard on their upcoming production of The Super Non-Heroes.
The play, by Taryn Temple, asks audiences if they have ever felt like they don’t belong? And who doesn’t want to be a superhero?
The cast will bring the audience into the world of Charlie. She sticks out like a sore thumb in a school full of superheroes. The school is full of a mixed cast of characters like Smellinator who can’t control her powers and forgot to do her villain homework, Golden Boy won’t follow protocol, and Toxic Sludge.
When a super-villain attacks the school Charlie must dig deep within herself. She may not be a superhero but she discovers her unique talents to save the day.
Grade 4, 5, and 6 choir students will be making a special cameo in the production.
The show is open to the public and runs May 26 and May 27 with admission by donation towards the Jr. high drama club. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
