Taking advantage of the warm weekend weather, the Blindman Valley Lions Club gave some assistance to the great community of Bluffton.

They painted flag poles at the community center and hung flags generously donated by our MLA Jason Nixon, our MP Blaine Calkins and the County of Ponoka.

With paint donated by the Evergreen Co-op, these now create a beautiful entrance to the Bluffton Community Hall and campground.

The Club members also painted the community notice board and the ‘Welcome to Bluffton’ highway sign with paints donated from Lowes in Red Deer.

This sign was originally put up by business members in the community almost 30 years ago.

The Blindman Valley Lions Club also set up a donation station for the Rimbey food bank that was generously supported by members and families of the club as well as the community of Bluffton.

“We were actually overwhelmed at the support we received for this event. We collected 222.1 pounds of food and $125 in cash that we are certain the food bank will put to good use.”
