Situated 10 minutes south of Rimbey is the Lockhart Hall’s own Field of Dreams.

Built in 1904, the Calkins Valley school, which is currently flanked by cornfields, honestly has one of the nicest ball diamonds in the area.

Popular with locals, it has seen its fair share of activities.

Many have hosted their family reunions, weddings and camping parties at this beautiful country location. There have also been lots of memorable ball games held within its baseball diamond.

Sadly, this property has had its share of vandalism that seems to be so rampant these days. The old school house is no longer in use, however, the grounds on which it resides are still quite popular.

It continues to hold numerous events over the years. Noticing the rusty rails desperately in need of some attention, the members of the Blindman Valley Lions Club gathered together in late September.

With the generous support of supplies from The Evergreen Co-Op and armed with paint brushes, power tools, wire brushes and a lot of elbow grease this Lions club restored this community treasure.

It is once again a sparkling reminder that with a little love and attention everything can look a little brighter.
